Season Update 2019/20

Dear Families

We are so close to the season commencement for City North Little Athletics.

Please forgive what will be a heavily detailed post, however hopefully everything you will need to know for our 2019/20 season kick off will be right here.

Firstly, I would like to share that we have established a strong committee for this season, however we do have two critical positions remaining:

  • Centre Manager (and Assistant Centre Manager ideal)
  • Canteen Convenor *

Please refer to attached document City North Little Athletics Volunteer Roles detailing the current Committee positions filled, those currently vacant and document Committee Nomination Form which is a nomination form should you be interested in volunteering for one of these positions. *At the recent Committee Meeting it was decided that if we did not get interest from a wonderful volunteer to support our club and take on this position, it may be offered as a paid position. This position will require approx. 3hours dedicated availability throughout the season (Saturdays 2pm-5pm) and a weekly shop to maintain supply.  Please see a Committee Member (or reply to this email) if you know someone that may be interested or if you would like to find out more.

As communicated at the end of the 2018/19 season David Fitzell tendered his resignation as the City North Little Athletics Centre Manager. Without a Centre Manager we would not have been able to commence this season, so we thank David for holding this position until we can secure a replacement. Whilst the Centre Manager has overriding accountability for the centre’s operation, there is a knowledgeable and very supportive committee all dedicated to ensuring the success of the club. David has kindly offered to complete a full handover and with a strong committee presence, the incoming Centre Manager will be fully supportive on all accounts. If you are interested in this position or would like to find out more, please do not hesitate to speak with David (or a committee member who will point you in the right direction).

For returning families, there have been some general improvements to our operations including changes to our Come and Try Days and Registration Process/Fees. The document attached City North Little Athletics Quick Reference Guide 2019/20 will provide a complete update. One of these improvements being the introduction of an online registration process.  All previous season registered parents/athletes should have received an email from Little Athletics Queensland providing your member username and details on how to reset your password if needed.

With our season due to commence this Saturday 24th August 2019 as the U6-U10 Come and Try Day (more information in the Quick Reference Guide), volunteers will be needed and previous season parents are encouraged to support the club, committee and potential new athletes by volunteering across these days. Volunteering forms the backbone of our club and for more information please see the attached document CNLA Volunteering Document.

A lot of time and effort has been taken to ensure we have updated you on everything we think you would like to know. We appreciate it is a lot to take in but do hope it provides all the information you need and answers all your questions. Of course you are welcome to contact the committee at anytime if we can be of assistance.

We look forward to an exciting and successful season.
